Bookkeeping, Payroll, and Financial Operations for Growing Texas Businesses
Sophisticated enough to handle complexity.
Human enough to answer the phone.
Almost Nobody Leaves Their Bookkeeper Over Bad Math.
They leave because they couldn't get an answer. A question sits unanswered for a week. Reports show up late, or don't show up. Something breaks mid-quarter and nobody picks up the phone.
The work matters, but the responsiveness is what people actually notice. When you need to know whether you can afford a hire, or why a job came in under margin, or what happened on last week's payroll, you need a person who knows your business and answers the same day.
That's how BBS is built. Real people, reachable, who understand your books because they're in them every week — and who tell you when something looks wrong instead of waiting to be asked.
- Questions that go days without an answer
- Books weeks or months behind
- Reports that arrive too late to use
- No idea which jobs are actually profitable
- Payroll getting more complicated every quarter
- Invoices going out late, receivables stretching
- Year-end turning into a scramble
- A provider who's outgrown you — or you've outgrown
Start With Whatever Is Costing You the Most Right Now
Most clients come to us with one specific problem. Find yours below — each one goes to a page that explains exactly how we handle it.
Weekly Bookkeeping
"I never know where we actually stand."Transactions coded and job costs allocated every week, reconciled and closed every month. Your file reflects this week, not last month.
ExplorePayroll & HR Compliance
"Payroll has gotten complicated."Processing, tax filing support, HR compliance assistance, and certified payroll for commercial construction — LCPtracker and CCIP included.
ExploreAP/AR & Cash Flow
"We're profitable but always tight."Weekly check runs, invoicing, and receivables — including the collections calls most bookkeepers won't make.
ExploreCatch-Up & Cleanup
"We're behind and I don't know how far."A diagnostic review first, a fixed price second, then books that finally tie out. No lectures about how it got this way.
ExploreAdvanced Reporting
"The P&L doesn't tell me what to do."KPI dashboards, job profitability, WIP schedules, and cash flow forecasting — the numbers you actually decide on.
ExploreController & Fractional CFO
"Nobody is checking our books."Controller oversight above your existing office staff, plus advisory sessions on budgets, growth, and lender conversations. Advisory only; not CPA or attest services.
ExplorePick One Service, or Hand Us the Whole Thing
Two ways to work with us, and no pressure toward the bigger one. Most clients start small and grow into more.
Bookkeeping, Plus What You Need
Weekly bookkeeping as the foundation, then add the one service where you're feeling the most pressure. Nothing bundled in that you didn't ask for.
The Full-Service Package
Bookkeeping, payroll, AP/AR, reporting, controller oversight, and office support under one team at one flat monthly price. One number, one point of contact, nothing billed by the hour.
Sophisticated Enough to Handle Complexity. Human Enough to Answer the Phone.
We're not a solo bookkeeper you can't reach, and we're not an impersonal national firm where you're a ticket number. We're built to be both capable and reachable.
Real Responsiveness
A named person who knows your business, answering the same business day in most cases and always within 24 hours. Not a shared inbox, not a queue.
Financial Visibility
Organized books aren't the goal — they're what lets you see which jobs make money, forecast honestly, and decide without guessing.
Problem Solving
When payroll breaks mid-quarter or the numbers stop making sense, we dig in and fix it. Most bookkeepers record the problem and move on.
Systems Built to Scale
Add crews, locations, or entities without starting over. We build the structure for where you're going, not just where you are today.
Built for the Businesses That Run Texas
The chart of accounts, the cost tracking, and the reports that matter change completely depending on what you do.
Construction & Contracting
Job costing, WIP schedules, retainage, progress billing, and certified payroll — books your bonding agent and lender can actually read.
Trades & Field Services
High transaction volume, technicians in the field, material costs by job, and revenue split across service and install work.
Medical & Healthcare
Reimbursement timing you don't control, patient receivables that need consistent follow-up, and provider-level profitability.
We also work with restaurants and hospitality, real estate and property management, and professional services firms. See all industries we serve.

Before You Call — Answered
The questions we hear most in a first conversation.
Is BBS an accounting firm or a CPA firm?
Neither. Bulverde Business Solutions provides bookkeeping, payroll, and financial operations services. We are not a CPA firm and we don't provide tax, audit, or attest services. What we do is keep your books accurate year-round and hand your CPA a clean, documented package at year end — then coordinate with them directly so you're not the middleman.
How fast do you actually respond?
Same business day in most cases, and always within 24 hours. You get a named contact who knows your business rather than a shared inbox. If something needs real digging, we tell you that up front instead of going quiet — the silence is what people hated about their last provider.
What does it cost to work with you?
A flat monthly price, quoted after we look at your actual volume and complexity. We don't bill hourly and we don't meter phone calls, because a client who hesitates to call us is a client we can't help. Anyone quoting a number before seeing your books is guessing, and that guess usually gets revised upward later.
Do we have to switch software?
No. We hold Intuit ProAdvisor Elite certification and are a Knowify Certified Advisor, so QuickBooks Online and Knowify are where we're fastest — but if your current system works, we'd rather run it than put you through a migration you didn't ask for. If the system genuinely is the problem, we'll say so plainly.
Can you start mid-year, or with messy books?
Both, routinely. Most transitions happen mid-year, and most books need some cleanup before they can be run forward honestly. We scope that separately so you know the cost before we begin. See our catch-up and cleanup service.
What's the first step?
A strategy call. Tell us what's broken or what's missing, and we'll tell you how we'd approach it and what it would cost — or tell you honestly if you don't need us yet. No pressure and no commitment. Start a strategy call here.
